:devMadhattersSociety:: Childhood Fears Contest!

The new contest is as much of a challenge as it is a contest. The theme is "Childhood Fears." Was it the sound of a train in the night, before you knew what trains were? A shadow on the wall at a certain time of day? Something from a movie that you were too young to see? Maybe even a children's story that spooked you; the Brothers Grimm were pretty grim.

The idea is to represent that fear in your chosen field of art/literature. The more edgy, off-balance, and surreal it is, the better the chance of winning. The contest will run through January first, 2015, so you'll have plenty of time. Don't procrastinate, though, get to creating!

So far the prizes are 400 points for first pace, 300 for second, and 175 for third in each category. There will be two categories, one for visual art and one for literature.  (more points will be added as donations come in)

For those who wish to donate points, here's what you do:
Go over to the Bark page. At the upper right-hand corner, left click once on the "Give" button. A menu will drop down, and you left click once on "Give Points". A window will appear where you can set how many points you want to give, and put in the message box, "For the Childhood Fears contest". Send, close. You're done!

Any other prize donations are very welcome... we'd like to make this worth your while.  This journal will be updated each time there's more to add regarding prizes, donations, etc.  

All entries will be judged by the staff here no later than January seventh, 2015.


Regarding Contest Rules:

1: Are deviants who are not members permitted to participate?
A: No. you must be a member. But joining is easy!

2: Are group staff permitted to participate? If so, are there limitations?
A: Since the staff will be judging, they are welcome to enter but cannot win.

3: Only one entry, or can there be more?
A: One entry per person, please.

4: Is there a word limit for poetry, and prose?
A: No limits!

5: Are photographic entries allowed?
A: Yes, if they meet the criteria for the contest.

6: Are collaboration entries allowed?
A: Sure, but collaborations count as one entry each for the collaborators, meaning that the points/prizes would be split between the two.
